Pure Water for the World, Inc. Appoints New Country Director for Haiti

Rutland, VT - February 8, 2016. Pure Water for the World, Inc. (PWW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mario Andre as Country Director for Haiti. Mr. Andre succeeds Noelle Thabault, who retired in December after serving six years with PWW in Haiti.

"When human beings decided to give up their individuality, they formed societies. With societies, comes an inherent obligation to support one another. At PWW, we are committed to eradicating waterborne diseases around the globe, using education and technology that is simple, proven, and sustainable,” states Mr. Andre. “With our great staff, leadership, and generous donors, we will continue our work to achieve this objective."

“We are thrilled to have Mario as our head of country in Haiti and look forward to him applying his expertise and passion to advance our work there,” shares Carolyn Crowley Meub, PWW’s Executive Director. “Mario is committed to making a difference in the lives of fellow Haitians and driven to reaching more families and communities with safe water and sanitation solutions.”

Mario Andre succeeds Noelle Thabault, who went to Haiti in 2010 to assist PWW with post-earthquake disaster efforts. During her tenure, both as Deputy Director and most recently as Country Director, Dr. Thabault shared her medical background and expertise, making tremendous contributions to PWW’s work by bringing the public health perspective into intervention programs. Dr. Thabault has returned to New England and is enjoying time with her family.
