Neglected Tropical Diseases

The World Health Organization this year launched an ambitious roadmap to combat 20 diseases that affect the world’s poorest people, as the COVID-19 pandemic impacts healthcare systems around the globe.

From Chagas disease to chikungunya, river blindness to sleeping sickness, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) affect 1.7 billion people and kill thousands every year.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation has partnered with Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases to report on the global effort to end the needless suffering cause by NTDs. These stories are part of that series.
