Former journalist, and blogger Nhat stands between policemen in front of the dock during his trial at a court in Vietnam's central Danang city
Former journalist, and blogger Truong Duy Nhat (C) stands between policemen in front of the dock during his trial at a court in Vietnam's central Danang city March 4, 2014, in this handout photograph distributed by Vietnam News Agency (VNA). The court sentenced Nhat to two years in prison on Tuesday for speaking out against the country's communist rulers, a verdict the U.S. expressed deep concern over and called to be overturned. Nhat, 50, was found to have "abused his freedoms to infringe upon the state's interest" in posts on his blog, the last of which was in May last year, when he criticised the procedure for Vietnam first-ever parliamentary censure motion. Nhat told the court he was innocent in his final remarks before sentencing, according to his lawyer Tran Vu Hai.
