The recent escalation of the conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes and find shelter in camps in and around the city of Goma in North Kivu province. It is basically rocks, stones and old lava, the result of volcanic activity from Nyragongo volcano. It looks like a construction site.
